Privacy Policy
Inflation Money does not collect personal data. There are no accounts, forms, newsletters, analytics scripts, advertising scripts or cookies. This policy explains the small amount of processing that does happen when you visit.
What we collect
Nothing directly. The site has no sign-up, no login, no comment system, no newsletter and no contact form. If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to send and use it only to reply to you and to fix any problem you report. We do not add your address to any list or share it with anyone.
Hosting logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard connection data in order to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. That can include your IP address, the user agent string your browser sends, the page requested and the time of the request. This processing happens on Cloudflare's infrastructure under Cloudflare's own privacy terms. The Inflation Money editorial team does not build visitor profiles from these logs.
Local storage
The site uses localStorage in your own browser to cache the most recent Treasury debt figures. This makes pages load faster on a return visit and lets a clock resume from where it was instead of restarting. The cached data is the same public data shown on the page; it contains nothing about you. It never leaves your browser and is not transmitted to us or to anyone else. You can clear it at any time from the privacy settings page or through your browser's site-data controls.
Third-party services
Two third parties are involved in serving the site.
- Cloudflare hosts the site and serves every page and asset, as described under hosting logs above.
- Google Fonts supplies the typeface. Your browser requests the font files from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com, and Google receives your IP address and browser details as part of serving that request. Google publishes its own privacy policy covering the Fonts service.
- U.S. Treasury Fiscal Data API is called from your browser on pages with the debt clock to fetch the latest Debt to the Penny figures. Treasury receives your IP address and browser details as part of serving that request; no personal data is sent. The response is cached in your browser for up to six hours.
The statistics shown on the site come from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the U.S. Treasury, FRED, the World Bank and CoinGecko. They are fetched by our scheduled job and published as snapshots on the site.
Cookies
The site sets no cookies, first-party or third-party. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing for one to control.
Analytics and advertising
The site currently loads no analytics scripts and no advertising scripts. No page views are counted by a third party and no advertising identifiers are created. If analytics or advertising is ever added, this policy and the privacy settings page change first, and consent controls appear where the law requires them, before any such script loads.
Children
The site is general-audience educational content. It does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children under 13 or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction, because it does not collect personal data at all.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of personal data. Because we hold no personal data about visitors, there is normally nothing for us to act on, but you can email [email protected] with any privacy question or request and we respond. To remove the data the site stores in your browser, use the button on the privacy settings page or clear site data in your browser settings. Requests about Cloudflare's or Google's own processing are handled under their respective policies.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the date at the top of the page is updated. Material changes, such as adding any analytics or advertising service, are described on this page before they take effect.
