Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of InflationMoney.com. By using the site you agree to them. They are written in plain English; if anything is unclear, email us.

Educational use

Inflation Money publishes clocks, calculators, historical data pages and guides for general educational and informational purposes. The site is free to use. It exists so that readers can understand public economic statistics, not so that they can act on any particular figure without checking it.

No financial, legal or tax advice

Nothing on the site is financial, investment, legal, tax or accounting advice, and nothing on it is tailored to your circumstances. The calculators perform arithmetic on historical index values and published rates; they do not predict prices or returns and do not recommend any product, asset or course of action. Consult a qualified professional before making decisions that depend on these topics.

Data accuracy and availability

Figures on the site are drawn from public sources such as the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the U.S. Treasury, the Federal Reserve, the World Bank and CoinGecko, then processed by our own pipeline. Sources revise their data, pipelines can fail, and clock values between releases are projections rather than readings. The site is provided "as is" and "as available". We make no warranty, express or implied, that any figure is accurate, complete or current, that the site is free of errors, or that it is available at any particular time. Verify a figure against the original source before relying on it; the methodology page links to each one.

Permitted use

You may view, link to and quote from the site for personal and non-commercial purposes, including in classrooms, on social media and in personal blogs, provided you attribute the material to Inflation Money and include a link to the page it came from. If you want to reproduce substantial parts of a page, embed a calculator or use content commercially, email [email protected] first. The underlying government statistics are public data and are not ours; our text, page design, code and compiled datasets are.

Automated access

You may fetch pages and the published JSON snapshots at reasonable rates, for example the way a search engine crawler or a personal script checking once an hour does. You may not scrape the site at rates that degrade it for other visitors, circumvent rate limits or protections applied by our host, or misrepresent automated traffic as human. If you need bulk data, the original sources listed on the methodology page offer it directly.

Third-party links

Pages link to outside sources such as FRED, the Treasury's Fiscal Data site and the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Those sites have their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or availability. A link is a citation, not an endorsement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Inflation Money and its editorial team are not liable for any loss or damage, whether direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or otherwise, arising from your use of the site or reliance on any figure, calculation or statement on it, including losses from investment, borrowing or spending decisions. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable to the publisher's place of operation, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

Changes to these terms

We revise these terms from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows the current version. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
